The history of natural medicine in medical school education-

Before 1910, holistic health modalities were taught alongside allopathic medicine in medical schools across America. After the Flexner Report was enforced by the AMA (with financial backing from the two largest pharmaceutical drug investors), medical schools were told they must comply with the report and remove naturopathic modalities from their curriculum in order to focus on the development of modern medicine, or else the school would forgo funding and accreditation. The U.S. went from over 200 practicing medical schools down to 60, and all naturopathic healing modalities were removed. Today, the USA is 4% of the world’s population, yet consumes 41% of the world’s pharmaceutical drugs. Both patients and health professionals alike are deprived of proper education on all available alternatives.
